OUR STORY
The founder
Hi, I’m Rajasi — the founder and designer of Rare.
Starting this brand has been a dream for as long as I can remember (probably since I decided fashion was the only thing I wanted to do).
Rare actually began in 2020 — in the middle of Covid, since this is what I had in my cards for the longest time. It worked, it grew, and for a while, it felt right.
But somewhere along the way, I felt stuck. Like something was missing.
So I did what felt scary at the time — I paused everything and moved to Manchester to study International Fashion Business Management.
And now I’m back.
Back in India, back to building Rare — but this time with more clarity, more intention, and a lot more understanding of what I want this brand to be.
THE brand
I realised my love for Indian fashion was always there.
It really started growing during my undergrad, when I got a closer look at Indian crafts — learning about them, understanding them, and honestly just getting more fascinated the deeper I went.
And then I moved to Manchester.
That’s where it hit me.
The appreciation people had for anything Made in India — the curiosity, the excitement — it was something I hadn’t really seen back home in the same way.
It made me question things a little.
Why do we sometimes overlook what’s ours, until someone else points it out?
And that’s where Rare comes in.
This is my way of bringing that focus back — creating pieces that feel modern, but still stay rooted in Indian craft and culture.
Made thoughtfully, using chemical-free dyes, handwork, and ethical practices — while also making sure the artisans behind it get the recognition they deserve.
This is just the beginning!
